Carlos Cardenas was born in Bogota, Colombia and developed an early passion for animals by assisting his grandmother with the care and protection of local homeless animals. In his early twenties he worked in the Caribbean where he fell in love with the sea and marine life. In 2001 he moved to Florida where he began drawing fish native to the area. Carlos’s art inspires people to appreciate and protect the sea. He donates a percentage of his artwork to non-profit organizations for research, rescue, rehab and release of ocean animals. He currently paints in Tampa Bay, Florida and his preferred medium is oil on canvas. His paintings and reproductions are made with the highest quality materials. His work can be purchased through his website, and art shows. Carlos is a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists, (PAVA).
